Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026

1. Who we are

Watchtower is operated under the Watchtower name. If you have privacy questions, contact us at [email protected].

2. Information we collect

We may collect account information such as your name, username, email address, billing-related details, and information you provide when using Watchtower.

We may also collect service usage information, monitor configuration data, monitored URLs or targets, alert-destination details, AI Visibility Readiness settings and results, AI Visibility Watch prompts, tracked entities, owned targets, competitor names, citation evidence, Optimizer recommendations, AI Answer QA Watch prompts and expected answer details, Watchtower Human Voice pasted text, scan results, rewrite outputs, mode settings, Watchtower Signals subjects and settings, evidence snapshots, run history, and technical data related to the operation, security, and improvement of the service.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide and operate Watchtower, authenticate users, run monitoring checks, generate monitoring history, deliver alerts, process billing, support AI Visibility Readiness, AI Visibility Watch, AI Visibility Optimizer recommendations, AI Answer QA Watch, Watchtower Human Voice, and Watchtower Signals, improve reliability, communicate with users, and protect the platform from abuse or misuse.

4. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

We use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies to support authentication, security, performance, product improvement, and basic first-party analytics.

Our first-party analytics may collect page paths visited, page titles, referrers, anonymous visitor and session identifiers, browser and device information, operating system, timestamps, approximate country-level location when available, and whether a visit is associated with a logged-in Watchtower account. This helps us understand how Watchtower is used, diagnose issues, improve the product, and protect the service.

We do not intentionally store raw IP addresses in first-party analytics records. We may use a hashed version of an IP address or infrastructure headers, such as Cloudflare country headers, for security, deduplication, approximate location, and abuse-prevention purposes.

5. Service providers

We may use third-party providers for infrastructure, hosting, analytics, notifications, billing, customer support, AI-related processing, public-web data access, and related operational services.

These providers may process information only as needed to help us provide, secure, maintain, and improve Watchtower.

6. Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain appropriate business records. Monitoring history, AI Visibility Readiness results, AI Visibility Watch runs, Optimizer recommendations, AI Answer QA Watch results, Watchtower Human Voice scans and rewrites, Watchtower Signals runs, evidence snapshots, and alert history may also be subject to plan-based retention rules inside the product.

First-party analytics pageview records are retained for a limited period, currently configured for up to 90 days, unless a longer period is needed for security, debugging, legal, or operational reasons.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps designed to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding access, correction, deletion, or objection related to your personal information. Contact us to make a request.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
